Yacht Charter Information
MYBA Terms In the MYBA agreement and in agreements with MYBA Terms, the charter rate covers the hire of the yacht along with all its operational equipment, tools, supplies, cleaning materials, crew wages, onboard crew expenses, yacht insurance, and tourist taxes. Additional expenses such as value-added tax (VAT) and other operational costs including fuel for engines and generators, jet ski and tender fuel, harbor fees & taxes, as well as food, drinks, and other non-inclusive expenses are the responsibility of the charterer. These extra costs are commonly managed through the Advance Provisioning Allowance (APA), typically amounting to 25% - 35% of the charter rate.
Advanced Provisioning Allowance (APA) The Advanced Provisioning Allowance (APA) offers a clear and trackable way for charterers to manage their expenses while at sea. It covers all operating expenses such as fuel, harbor fees, customs fees, provisions, beverages, non-alcoholic beverages, alcoholic beverages, fuel, as well as any special requests and incidentals on your behalf. The APA is typically 25% - 35% of the charter fee and is due at the same time as the final charter payment, approximately one month before departure. The Captain will manage all payments and provide you with an itemized breakdown of expenses at the end of the charter. Any remaining credit will be reimbursed to you in full, while outstanding expenses are to be settled in cash before disembarkation. APA provides a transparent and convenient way to handle expenses during your charter.
Gulet Terms (EMT), Some Gulets and Motorsailers are contracted under the EMT (Eastern Mediterranean Terms). The charter rate includes accommodation on the vessel, crew and their expenses, fuel for up to 4 hours of cruising per day, fuel for generators (typically limited to A/C usage), public harbor fees & taxes, use of recreational equipment, and tourist taxes. VAT is payable extra by the charterer. Choose from our Half board or Full board food and drink options, including Alcoholic or Non-alcoholic beverage packages. Obligatory extra costs in these terms are Food options (Half board or Full board) and Beverage options (Alcoholic or Non-alcoholic packages). Additional expenses may include port, marina fees, anchorages, day trips, delivery fee (if appropriate), extra navigation hours, fuel for tender-operated watersports, and any other expenses not specifically mentioned.
The Preference Sheet Every Detail Matters – Design your bespoke luxury yacht vacation with us, tailored meticulously to your dreams. The Preference sheet is the key to ensuring your perfect, tailor-made luxury yacht charter. Your captain and crew need to know all about your charter preferences to make your vacation the best it can be. The preference sheet is a comprehensive questionnaire about your charter party’s needs, and the information you provide will be crucial in ensuring every aspect of your yacht charter is tailor-made to perfection. Food and Meals - This sheet contains all your charter details and a detailed list of your food, beverage, and favorite alcoholic drink preferences, with indications for preferred meals or any dietary restrictions, allergies, diabetic conditions, or other medical needs. Food is one of the most important aspects of your Gulet holiday, and we are committed to serving first-class meals aboard all of our charters. When chartering a Gulet in Turkey, you are provided with a chef to prepare your food. The culinary experience on a luxury yacht can be one of the most enjoyable parts of your holiday. Each time you sit at your table, it should be a memorable and pleasant experience. Specify your own menus and enjoy your favorite Mediterranean and international specialties prepared as requested. Your table will be loaded with various dishes prepared with the very best seasonal foods, and luxury seafood, such as lobsters and other delicious specialties, as indicated in your preference list. If you would like to have any meals ashore during the week, or a special event such as a beach barbecue, share that information so the crew can plan accordingly. Unlike a hotel, a luxury yacht will not have access to mass supplies of food and drinks so it is essential to let the crew know in advance if you have a favorite wine, champagne, liquor, or type of sweet treats. Let’s plan meticulously in advance, as certain items may be accessible during your yacht charter cruise, but if you are headed to a remote bay and are eager for a special champagne, be prepared to pay the shipping costs. Inform us about your preferred activities – watersports, kite surfing, scuba diving, yoga, massages, hiking, cycling, or any other activities. Inform us about any special occasions –Perhaps you plan a birthday party, any other celebrations or a special event on board, just let us know about your requirements so that we can plan in advance. Please inform us also about the places you would like to visit during your charter.
Payment Terms After signing the MYBA or EMT charter agreement, a 50% deposit of the total charter cost is due within 7 days via bank transfer. The remaining 50%, APA (if applicable), taxes, positioning fees, and any previously agreed charges are payable via bank transfer at least six weeks before departure. We highly recommend obtaining Cancellation and Curtailment Insurance to safeguard the investment in case of unforeseen circumstances that might prevent the charter. Additionally, guests should have Personal Accident and Medical Insurance coverage, as well as insurance for their belongings against theft, loss, or damage. Charterers’ Liability insurance is also strongly advised. For further assistance and insurance guidance, please contact your broker.
Insurance To ensure peace of mind in the face of unexpected events that could disrupt your charter, we strongly advise securing Cancellation and Curtailment Insurance to safeguard your investment. VAT When chartering in European waters, please note that the gross Charter Fee may be subject to Value Added Tax (VAT) and delivery costs in accordance with European Union tax legislation. Tips for the Crew While tipping the crew is not mandatory, it is customary for guests to show appreciation for the hardworking crew by offering a gratuity. The amount typically ranges around 10% of the charter fee and is divided equally among all crew members by the captain, reflecting the guests' satisfaction.
